Overview

High above Lake Atitlán stands Indian Nose, one of the region's most iconic viewpoints. The adventure begins in Panajachel with a scenic hour-and-a-half drive to Santa Clara la Laguna, gateway to the trailhead. From there, a gentle hike leads to a summit where the sunrise reveals the lake and its ring of volcanoes stretched out below. The peak takes its name from a Mayan legend: its silhouette is said to resemble the face of an indigenous man gazing up at the sky. Short and easy underfoot, it's a rewarding outing with a story and a view worth the early start.

Ati Adventures uses tiered group pricing — the price per person depends on how many people join, and it drops as the group grows. Clients can check out the Adventure Calendar to join an existing trip at a lower price, or start their own group for a preferred date by paying a 2-person minimum deposit and hopefully have other people join over the coming weeks or days.

What's included

Your day on the Trail

3:30 AM: We pick you up from your hotel in Panajachel (centrally located hotels) and begin the drive toward Santa Clara la Laguna.
5:00 AM: Arrival at the trailhead. We start the ascent toward Indian Nose, climbing steadily as the sky begins to lighten.
5:30 AM – 5:450 AM: We reach the summit just in time for sunrise, taking in the view of Lake Atitlán and its surrounding volcanoes as the sun rises. We pause here to rest and enjoy a warm coffee or tea while soaking in the panorama.
6:15 AM – 6:45 AM: We begin our descent back toward the trailhead.
8:15 AM: Back to Panajachel, returning you to your lodging to close out the adventure.
