Pana Traverse Day Hike

Overview

Embark on a captivating half-day hike traversing the lush forests and scenic agricultural zones nestled in the mountains above Panajachel. This trail is a cherished gem, combining brevity with breathtaking panoramas that extend over the picturesque town of Panajachel and the expansive Lake Atitlan watershed. Journeying through oak-draped woodlands and passing by flourishing onion and corn fields at the summit, the hike is a perfect blend of natural beauty and local agriculture, offering an enriching exploration of the region's diverse landscapes.

  • Start Time: 8:00am from Panajachel (flexible). 
  • Max Elevation:  2000 meters above sea level. 
  • Hike Duration: 2 -3  hours.
  • Total Duration: Half day activity.

Itinerary

8:00 am: We pick you up at your hotel in Panajachel, and begin the hike.  at your hotel in Panajachel, and begin the hike. 

8:00am – 9:00am: We hike up through town, passing by the local market and up the trail towards the summit of our hike, where we will  have a snack and a warm coffee or tea while enjoying the views. We will pass through terraced agricultural fields where local farmers are growing spring onions and can have amazing views of Lake Atitlan. 

9:30am – 10:30am: We begin to hike down back to Panajachel , where we will drop you off back at your hotel and end the adventure.
