Itinerary Day 1
7:30am: we pick you up from your hotel or anywhere in Santiago Atitlan to make way to the trailhead. We will be riding in the back of a pick up truck, so make sure to wear your warm jacket for this 15-20min ride.
8:00am-3:00pm: Once we get to the trail head, we will sort out backpacks and gear to make sure you are all ready to go. We begin the 6 to 7 hour hike. Most of the trail is on a well maintained path and it will get steeper as we get closer to the summit. We will make several stops along the way, including one to have lunch. Once we get to the final hour of the hike, the trail will get a little more technical, with sharp volcanic rock and a little exposed to the sun and elements.
3:00pm: We reach the summit, set up camp, and rest with a warm coffee, tea or hot chocolate while we wait for the sunset.
6:30pm: We prepare for a nice, warm dinner, and admire the starry night before going to bed.
Itineray Day 2
5:30am: We wake up to watch the sunrise with a warm coffee , tea or hot chocolate.
7:00am: We get ready for breakfast, begin taking the campsite down, and pack our backpacks.
8:00am-12:00pm: We begin to descend on a 3 hour hike back to the trailhead where our pick up truck will be to take us back to Santiago Atitlan and the end of our adventure.
